Well as I sit in my hotel room in Montreal having just experienced a wonderful Peter Gabriel concert, I ponder where my love of music came from. I was probably a late starter to real music having satisfied myself with Glam rock until the boys from Barassie came into their own. Messrs Geddes, Carse, Paterson and MacMillan were probably responsible to introducing me to the wonders of Supertramp, The Who, Pink Floyd and Queen at their best. Even Gabriel had roots in Barassie when I was introduced to Foxtrot. I can still see the satchels these guys brought to school with the band names artistically etched onto the bags. Later years my mentors would hail from further west and main memory the unique Dougie James and his legendary box of singles that attended many a party.
